Southern California's premier musical theatre artists,
having won acclaim in roles as diverse as Bud Frump (How
to Succeed in Business) and Cyrano de Bergerac. His
vocal gifts are similarly varied and embrace the
operatic, oratorio, and concert repertoire, as well as
international folk, jazz, and church music. Mr. Huntington's long list of stage credits includes the Dons Magnifico (La Cenerentola), Quixote (Man of La Mancha), and Pasquale (Don Pasquale). Other roles include Neville Craven in The Secret Garden, which garnered a Dramalogue Award, Fagin (Oliver!), Oberon (A Midsummer's Night Dream), Mr. Antrobus (The Skin of Our Teeth), and "Father" (God) in this season's west coast premier of Stephen Schwartz's musical Children of Eden at Fullerton Civic Light Opera. He has also appeared in the National Company of Phantom of the Opera in San Francisco and young audiences will recognize him as "Hans" in the popular children's video, Rigoletto, from Feature Films for Families. A native of Tacoma, Washington, Mr. Huntington's musical training occurred as part of daily life at home in a large musical family. His advanced training earned him a degree in acting from Brigham Young University. Subsequent to college and their wedding, came several years in his wife's hometown of New York, training with noted Broadway director/teacher, Tad Danielewski. There his career as a voice teacher was launched, and included the training of Gian-Carlo Menotti's "favorite Amahl" in the annual Lincoln Center production of Amahl and the Night Visitors. Mr. Huntington's own performing career began at age 10 with that same role. Presently, Mr. Huntington works as an actor/director/costumer/singer and operates a private voice studio in Mission Viejo, where he resides with his wife of 23 years and their seven children. |
