From George Skyles:
CDs can be a great help in learning the notes of major works. They can be purchased by mail order from: Hammond Music Services, 1-800-628-0855, or visit www.songlearning.com. There are no words, but pianos play all parts, SATB or SSAATTBB. Your part is in the foreground (louder), while the other parts and accompaniment are int he background. Soft metronome beats help you keep time. CDs are $14-17, and tapes are $12-15 plus $2.00 each shipping and handling. They are available for the Verdi Requiem, the Messiah, the Lord Nelson Mass and Zadok the Priest. Questions? Contact Carol or George Skyles.
From Sue Wyatt:
One of the best ways I've found to learn major works is to get professional recordings and listen continuously whenever I'm in the car. Even though I'm not looking at the music, the dynamics and feel of the music become ingrained in my memory. When I'm ready to practice seriously with the music in hand, its much more familiar and easier to see where my part fits in with the whole.
